i had been trying my 2h bh with a semi-western and continental grip for a long time with no success, but since i’ve switched it an eastern i’ve really been able to start hitting it pretty well

everyone uses continental grip on their backhands mate.

would anyone know of his backhand grip? im really battling between eastern or semi-western grip myself, and knowing his grip would help a lot thanks

not lazy, relaxed
By SuperThorny1, January 5, 2013 @ 6:22 pm
nice lazy smooth swing, but look how quickly the ball comes off the racquet. I prefer del Potro’s backhand to his forehand

@effava As if you are in a position to give Del Potro advice. I’m pretty sure you haven’t won a pro tournament, let alone the US Open.

By insanefrog, January 5, 2013 @ 7:46 pm
the racquet looks so small in his hands
By bjorncerovsek, January 5, 2013 @ 8:43 pm
he’s too big!
By anasamati, January 5, 2013 @ 9:39 pm
He doesn’t need any advice right now. Because with this game he won the US Open

I like seeing the racquet flex back on impact
By AtlantisArch, January 5, 2013 @ 11:45 pm
well, the wrist move is good, but the rest is way perfectible indeed
By TennisForALiving, January 6, 2013 @ 12:24 am
this is one fine backhand

I’m not a big fan of the two handed back hand. But it’s not bad. Looks ok.
